Slate is a personal project, run by one person, offered free to people he knows. These terms are short because the arrangement is simple.

What you can expect

• It is free. There is no plan, no trial, and nothing to cancel.
• Your data is yours. Ask and it is deleted, all of it, the same day.
• No one else can see your tasks unless you share them deliberately.
• It is read-only against your mail, calendar and chat. It cannot send or change anything.

What you should not expect

• It is not a system of record. Do not let Slate be the only place something important exists — for anything that matters, keep it where your work already keeps it.
• No uptime promise. It runs on a small server and may be down, slow, or briefly broken while something is being fixed.
• The suggestions are a machine reading your messages. They are frequently useful and sometimes wrong, and nothing becomes a task until you accept it. Treat them as a prompt to think, not an instruction.
• It may go away. If it does, you will get notice and a way to export what you have.

Fair use

Find tasks costs real money per run, paid out of Patrick's pocket, so each account has a generous monthly allowance for it. Normal use will never reach it. If you do, Slate says so plainly and everything you have already captured stays exactly where it is.

Do not use Slate to store anything unlawful, and do not try to reach another account's data. Either one ends the account.

The legal part

Slate is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Patrick Hennessy is not liable for any loss arising from using it, including lost data or a task you did not get reminded about. If any of this turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.

Access can be withdrawn at any time, and you can stop using it at any time. Questions go to phennessy@constructionintelligence.com.
